Everyone’s a TROT Ambassador

We are replacing the official Trail Racing Over Texas Ambassador Program with something more open, more fair, and more community-driven.

At TROT, we believe the best ambassadors are the runners already showing up, racing with us, bringing friends, volunteering, cheering, posting photos, and helping grow the Texas trail running community. Instead of having a small official ambassador team, we want every registered participant to have the opportunity to share TROT and be rewarded for it.

This is why we are introducing TROT Share the Trail Rewards.

Why We Do Not Rely on Big Coupons and Sales

We believe general coupons and constant sales are unfair to the people who have already registered.

Our pricing is built to reflect the real cost of putting on quality trail races: permits, park fees, insurance, aid stations, timing, shirts, medals, buckles, staff, volunteers, equipment, supplies, safety, photography, and everything else that goes into race day.

When races rely heavily on large coupons or constant discounts, it often means the original price was inflated to make room for those discounts. That is not how we want to operate.

We want you to feel confident when you register for a TROT race. The best price will almost always be the earliest price.

Early Bird Pricing

Our races use early bird pricing stages.

As we get closer to race day, our costs and resource needs increase. The earlier we know our registration numbers, the better we can prepare, plan, order supplies, staff the event, and support the race experience.

To reward early commitment, prices increase gradually over time, usually by small amounts of $5–$10 per stage.

The earlier you register, the better your price.

Personal Referral Code

When you register for a TROT race, you will receive your own unique referral link and/or referral code.

For every runner who registers using your referral link or code, you will receive $5 back.

Invite your friends, training partners, club members, family, coworkers, or that one person who keeps saying they want to try trail running.

The more people you bring to the trail, the more you can earn back.

Referral Coupon

When you register, you will also receive a unique $5 coupon code that you can share with others.

This coupon is good for 100 hours after your registration.

This gives your friends a short window to jump in, register, and join you at the race while still keeping the system fair for those who registered early.

TROT Referral Reward

When you refer 10 runners to a TROT race, you will receive your choice of a TROT apparel or gear item from our store.

Every registered participant gets the chance to share their referral link, bring more runners to the trail, and earn rewards. No official ambassador title required.

First responders and military members may reach out to us by email with their affiliation to request a discount code.
