Volunteer
Volunteers are what make TROT races possible. From working aid stations and driving shuttles to assisting the race director, sweeping the course, and more, there are many ways to get involved. Volunteers earn race credits toward future events, volunteer swag, and other perks while helping create an incredible race experience for our runners.
Each event has its own volunteer signup page on RunSignup where you can view currently available opportunities. Additional roles are typically added as we get closer to race day.
If you have earned volunteer credits and would like to redeem them for a future race, please use the form below to submit your request. All legacy volunteer credits are currently being converted to the upgraded volunteer system.
AID STATION TAKEOVER
We are currently accepting Aid Station Club Takeover requests for all our races - if you are part of a running club, team, group, business, or any type of organization you can earn benefits for your group while having a lot of fun supporting the running community. Bring your own theme, costumes, music, special foods, you name it - the aid station is yours to have fun with. We'll set up the tent and basics, your club leader will organize the rest. Email for more information.

Volunteer Credit Structure
Volunteers earn race credits based on verified hours worked and the timing of the shift. Credits are issued in U.S. dollar value and may be applied toward entry fees for future Trail Racing Over Texas races. All legacy volunteer credits, prior to 2026, will be transferred to this new system.
Daytime Shifts
Hours worked between 6:00 AM – 8:00 PM earn credits at a rate of:
$10 per hour
Example:
A 6-hour daytime shift from 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM earns $60 in race credit.
Night / Overnight Shifts
Hours worked between 8:00 PM – 6:00 AM earn credits at a rate of:
$15 per hour
Example:
A 6-hour overnight shift from 12:00 AM – 6:00 AM earns $90 in race credit.
Hybrid Shifts
Some volunteer shifts span both daytime and overnight hours. When this occurs, credits are calculated proportionally based on the hours worked in each rate period.
Example:
A shift from 6:00 PM – 12:00 AM includes:
-
2 daytime hours at $10/hr
-
4 overnight hours at $15/hr
Total credit earned: $80
