About TROT
Founded in 2014 and revived in 2022 post-Covid, TROT has hosted over 100 events across Texas. From one-mile kids runs, 100-mile USATF championships, UTMB & Western States qualifiers, up to 200 mile mountain adventures, 100h timed events and everything in between for thousands of trail participants from beginner to elite.
TROT is fully owned and operated by elite athlete and coach, Cal Neff, to bring world-class trail events to Texas.
Events include the fastest 100mi and 50mi trail races at Brazos Bend (April and December events), the hottest race in Texas at Habanero Hundred, the beautiful Wildflower trail run in Bastrop, a hidden Texas gem with Mission Tejas, our timed challenge Jackalope Jam, the party at Nightmoves, and triple challenge at the Shootout, the Big Tex Backyard Ultra, Road Kill XC, and many more unique themed and format races.
TROT aims to get people outside and moving, showcasing Texas's beautiful parks and ranches with family-friendly events for all abilities and ambitions.
OWNER & RACE DIRECTOR
CAL NEFF
A runner since the age of four years old, Cal raced the first ever unofficial TROT event in 2013 and has been around as an athlete and race director ever since. Many of the original event ideas (good and bad) have come from Cal's experiences racing and training around the world.
As a sponsored athlete with Altra Running, Cal has competed around the world at an elite level at mountain, ultra, and trail World Championships on Team Canada, Comrades, World Major Marathons, and has paced Leadville, Western States, and the American Record in the marathon. He has three Guinness World Records and broke the Canadian 50k record in 2h51m. In addition to race directing, Cal has coached for over 15 years and has his own training company Hardloop Endurance providing training for all events.

Jeremiah is a world-class photographer from Killeen, Texas. When he's not snapping our event photos or building his personal portfolio of incredible wildlife, landscape, portraits, business, streetwear, and portraits photography you can find him assisting with race operations and out on the trails himself.
