The trails are primarily single track trails that are on soft ground, pine needles or soft clay. There is little to no elevation gain with only a few small rollers along the course.
The start/finish is at the group dining hall.
5k will be 1 loop of 3.25
10k will be 2 loops of 3.25
13.1 will be 3 loops of 4.6

The Shootout Runners MUST start each race with the time stated above.

DROP DOWNS AND DISTANCE CHANGES:
Once your race begins that is the distance you must finish to receive a medal for that distance. There is no dropping of distances during the race and you will be listed as a DNF no matter what the reason.
Go to UltraSignup.
Log into your account.
Under your name and “Account Into” towards the upper right of the screen select “Registration History”
On the "name of this race" , to the right of the date select “Edit”
Under “Switch Event?” select distance to change
Select “Checkout” to go through the process of paying the additional $ or changing lower. There will be a small UltraSignup fee if moving up in distance. During this process you will be dropping from the old distance, so you will need to immediately finish the checkout process to be added back into the the new distance.
The cutoff is 5pm for ALL distances.

What's on the table
All aid stations are FULL AID STATION and will be full stocked with Texas Style Goodies.
Drinks - Water and TAILWIND
Sodas - Coke and Ginger Ale.
Electrolytes - Hammer Endurolytes
Gels - Hammer Gels
Sweet - Cookies, Candy, Peanut Butter, Nutella, Chips and Pickles
Salty - Pringles, Trail Mix
PB&Js, Bean burrito rolls, fruit (bananas, oranges, seasonal fruits)
Medical - TRAIL TOES, bandages, vasoline, band aids, etc. ( NO NSAIDS e.g. ibuprofen)
We will have everything you need at our aid stations and we usually throw in something to make it fun.
We have had sheet cake, pies, watermelon, etc… You never know what the surprise will be!
We DO NOT have cups at the aid stations for water. We do our best to limit the footprint we leave at races and on the trails, so we will not have any cups for you. We encourage all of our runners to have reusable cups, bottles, and hydration packs to carry water in.
There are no pacers allowed with this race. For special consideration please email RD.
Crew is allowed at the start/finish line.
There is a $5 fee per person for the special event. You will need to pay us TROT at packet pickup Friday or Saturday for each person. We will give you a parking pass to be in the park. Children under 12 do not have to pay this fee.

There will be NO parking at the Start/Finish Line. There is only room for about 10 cars and we will need this for the course and the volunteers/staff.
All highlighted areas on the map are in green. There is parking on one side of the road leading up to the start/finish area. There is also a small parking lot in the shelter areas. Over flow parking will be where the day parking is at the front of the park and the shuttle pickup is noted in the front of the 2 buildings so that we can turn around and come back.
Shuttle times will be from 5am-5:00pm
As always we ENCOURAGE you to use the parks facilities as well. The camp grounds are great at the park and very affordable for the day. This helps keep the traffic in/out down and gives you a better place to keep your gear and enjoy the park as well. Here is the link to make online reservations for the park
WE ENCOURAGE ALL RUNNERS TO STAY IN THE PARK. NOT ONLY DOES IT CUT BACK ON TRAFFIC IT ALSO HELPS THE PARK OUT AS WELL. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE CAMPGROUND FOR ALL DAY SATURDAY AS CHECK OUT IS 2pm NORMALLY.

SWAG & BONUS SWAG:
The Friends of Stephen F. Austin State Park was founded in 1980 as The Friends of Stephen F. Austin State Historical Park. When the Texas Historical Commission took ownership of the Historical Park along the banks of The Brazos River the Friends Group remained connected only to the state park. The early Friends Group was responsible for many park fundraisers which benefited Stephen F. Austin tremendously. Many of the projects funded by the early Friends Group are still visible in the park today.
Today's Friends Group is a rejuvenated group of inspired individuals who collectively have a vision to help Stephen F. Austin State Park in achieving their goals and objectives to the community. Our group is made up of individuals, families and businesses as well as park volunteers. Our primary purpose is the raise funds to augment projects and needs for the park by following the outline of our mission statement.
With any race comes a small army that works behind the scenes to make it all happen. We think volunteers are the MOST important part of any race and we do our best to provide them with the best as well. If you have never been on the other side of the table than give it a shot.
Volunteer Shifts Range from 4-8 hours depending on event.
All of Our volunteers will receive:
Free park entry, an area to camp, race merchandise, and a provided meal on race day.
In Addition to this:
*If you volunteer for (1) Shift at any race you will get 50% off registration for any of our event in the future.
** If you volunteer for (2) Shifts at one race you will receive A FREE 100% Comped Entry Into any one of races in the future.
*** We will also have some shifts for our 100k and 100 mile races that we will give 100% comped entries for as well.
